Rose Quartz - Rose Quartz is the leader of the Crystal Gems and mother of Steven, she is kind and loves everything about Earth. Although Homeworld saw her, and her army as a threat, there was a reason why she rebelled, its because she found out about "Awakening" where a gem shiftshapes into something that defies who they are, and she shows his ability to her fellow Crystal Gems. And after the war was over and the corruption bomb was about to hit, Rose Quartz gathered as many Crystal Gems as she possibly can and protected them from the blast with her shield. Many years later, she falls in love with a human named Greg and later on they give birth to Steven. However, Homeworld is hunting down Steven because of a crime Rose might of committed, and that is the shattering of Pink Diamond, but even that is up to speculation as signs show that it might be someone else.
Sapphire - Sapphire is the second half that makes up Garnet, she's calm, always thinks before she acts, and serves as Ruby's comfort to calm her down. Many years ago, she was sent to Earth alongside other Homeworld gems and served as their all seeing eye. But when Rose and Pearl attacked the Homeworld Gems, Sapphire resisted her Ruby guard from taking her away because she saw a vision that she would be poofed by one of them. Her Ruby used her mere strength to carry her, but she got a little too close and accidentally fused with her. In a state of panic, they ran away before they could be seen by any Homeworld officials. They managed to be far away from where the Homeworld gems were and after they explored Earth a little bit, Ruby and Sapphire got to know each other well until the day they decided to become a permafusion. There were a few times that she and Ruby split, but eventually they come back together again.
Ruby - Ruby is the first half that makes up Garnet, she is tough, showing off her best abilities, but can get soft when Sapphire is around. Many years ago, she was once Sapphire's body guard when they arrived on Earth, however when Rose and Pearl attacked Homeworld Gems, Ruby tried to evacuate Sapphire from the scene, but she refused, saying that she would be poofed anyway. Ruby refused to let Sapphire go, so she used her mere strength to carry her, but she got a little too close and they accidentally fused. In a state of panic, they ran away before they could be seen by any Homeworld officials. They managed to be far away from where the Homeworld gems were and after they explored Earth a little bit, Ruby and Sapphire got to know each other well until the day they decided to become a permafusion. There were a few times that she and Sapphire split, but eventually they come back together again.
Bismuth - Bismuth was one of the original Crystal Gems that fought in the war and in some point in time her gem was bubbled by Rose and sealed away somewhere far away. But one day, Steven accidentally releases Bismuth (since her gem was put inside Lion's mane) and she was able to reform after so long. She got out of Lion's mane and was greeted by the remaining Crystal Gems, who were hugging her and in tears when they saw her. When they told her what happened (after the war and Homeworld returning) she was determined to help the Crystal Gems once more. At first, everything seemed fine, she trained with the Crystal Gems, got to relax with some of Earth's modern customs, and generally being nice, until Bismuth showed Steven something that was the reason why she was bubbled in the first place, and that was the Breaking Point, a weapon that breaks a gem upon impact. Steven rejected the idea of shattering Gems and tells her that Gems deserve a second chance but Bismuth refuses to believe that anyone on Homeworld can change. She tried to fight Steven and she almost used the Breaking Point on Steven, but he used this as a chance to knock it out of her hands and let it fall into the lava. He tells Bismuth that shattering gems for no reason makes her just as bad as Homeworld and should give Gems a second chance, Bismuth didn't say anything for a bit until asks Steven to tell the others what happened while she thinks about her actions. He told the Crystal Gems and they were shocked, now knowing a fellow Crystal Gem was planning a Gem Holocaust for Homeworld Gems, now Bismuth stays in her Forge, somewhat isolating herself, thinking deeply of what she's done.
